The ZWO Seestar S50 Pro Smart Telescope takes all-in-one smart astronomy to the next level, combining a 50mm apochromatic telephoto telescope, ultra-wide-angle camera, intelligent tracking mount, built-in filters and automated image processing into one compact system.

Designed to make astrophotography accessible without sacrificing imaging capability, the Seestar S50 Pro can automatically locate and track celestial targets through the Seestar App. Choose an object, let the telescope find it, and start capturing detailed views of nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, the Moon and the Sun with minimal setup.

Dual-Camera Imaging System

The Seestar S50 Pro features separate telephoto and wide-angle imaging systems, each equipped with an 8.3-megapixel sensor capable of capturing images at 2160 × 3840 resolution.

The main telephoto system uses a 50mm aperture, 260mm focal length and f/5.2 optical system, providing a 2.8° portrait field of view for detailed astronomical imaging. Its four-element apochromatic optical design incorporates ED glass to minimise chromatic aberration and deliver sharp, well-corrected images.

The integrated wide-angle camera provides a huge 63° portrait field of view, opening up Milky Way, star trail, landscape and terrestrial imaging.

50mm Apochromatic Optics

At the heart of the S50 Pro is a 50mm four-element apochromatic lens system with ED glass. Its larger aperture provides excellent light-gathering capability while the APO optical design helps produce sharper stars and improved colour correction.

With a 260mm focal length and 880mm equivalent focal length, the telephoto system is designed for capturing fine detail in deep-sky objects while retaining a useful field of view.

Deep-Sky Astrophotography Made Easy

Instead of assembling a traditional astrophotography system with a separate telescope, camera, mount, controller, filters and other accessories, the Seestar S50 Pro integrates the essential components into one smart telescope.

Using the Seestar App, the system can automatically locate stars and deep-sky objects, track targets and capture images, making it suitable for beginners entering astrophotography and experienced observers looking for a highly portable imaging system.

Built-In Astronomy Filters

The Seestar S50 Pro incorporates multiple filters directly into its optical system. The telephoto and wide-angle cameras feature UV/IR-cut filters, while the telephoto system also includes a dual-band light pollution filter with OIII 30nm and Hα 20nm bandpasses. A dark-frame filter is also incorporated into the telephoto system.

For solar observing and imaging, a magnetic solar filter is included.

Equatorial Mode Support

For users wanting to take their imaging further, the Seestar S50 Pro supports Equatorial Mode in addition to its standard Alt-Azimuth operation. A suitable equatorial setup may be required for Equatorial Mode operation.

Smart Imaging & Processing

The Seestar ecosystem handles much of the complicated work traditionally associated with astrophotography. Alongside automatic target finding and tracking, the software provides processing tools including star reduction, star removal, cropping, brightness, contrast, noise reduction and saturation adjustments.

Automated imaging planning also allows multiple targets to be organised across an observing session.

NFC Quick Connection

Power on the S50 Pro and connect your compatible smartphone using NFC, choose an imaging mode and target, and begin capturing. Wireless connectivity includes 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB Type-C.

128GB Storage & Long Battery Life

With 128GB eMMC internal storage, the S50 Pro provides substantial space for astrophotography data, images and videos. Approximately 100GB is available after accounting for system usage.

A large 10,000mAh battery provides up to approximately 9 hours of runtime based on ZWO laboratory testing, making the telescope suitable for extended observing sessions.
