Skywatcher 10" Dobsonian Telescope (10 inch)
Skywatcher 10", the Dobsonian is without doubt the easiest telescope to use, just stand the base on a flat surface and away you go, no leveling, no worrying about orientation, South or North, the surface can even be on a slope.
Featuring a 10" aperture and 1200mm focal length, F/4.7, this telescope will be your key to the Moon, stars, galaxies and more.
The Dobsonian is without
doubt the easiest telescope to use, just stand the base on a flat surface and away you go, no leveling, no worrying about orientation, South or North, the surface can even be on a slope.
The Dobsonian telescope will give you views of the rings around Saturn, the bands around Jupiter and the Moons. Our very own Moon looks spectacular through a Dobsonian, at low magnification you will fit the whole Moon in the eyepiece but bump the magnification with the 10mm eyepiece and you will get individual craters and depending on the phase of the Moon mountains and valleys.
Available in 6”, 8”, 10” and 12”, and for every extra 2 inches of aperture you will get 48% more light into the telescope.
The Dobsonian is a Newtonian reflector mounted on a Dobsonian mount named after the inventor John Dobson. If you were to mount the Reflector tubes on a standard Equatorial mount the price would be at least 3 times that of the Dobsonian, making the Dobsonian a very affordable large aperture telescope.
The primary mirror also reflects a parabolic design which helps eliminate spheric aberration, a common issue found in low quality telescopes. What does this mean? This telescope is build for high quality and clear views throughout the night.
For the technical astronomers, the primary mirror features a premium Pyrex glass construction known for minimising thermal expansion and decreases cooling time.
Tension Control Handle The Tension Control Handle (US Patent No. 6,940,642) is exactly what makes the Skywatcher 10" Dobsonian Telescope so easy to use. The Tension Control handle enables the telescope to stay in place by simply modifying the amount of tension between the telescope optical tube and the sideboard mount.
This means that balancing the telescope is extremely easy - simply turn the knob. Now, all you have to be concerned about is what you want to look at! The Skywatcher 10" Dobsonian features a 5 Years Warranty.
