This narrowband imaging filter transmits key nebular wavelengths; Hα, Hβ, and OIII—while blocking unwanted light to improve contrast and suppress light pollution.

Designed for Emission Nebulae

By passing light at 486nm, 496/501nm, and 656nm with 85% or greater transmission, the filter allows nebulae to remain bright while darkening the surrounding sky background.

Optimised for Fast f/2.2 Optics

This filter is custom-engineered for Origin’s fast f/2.2 optical system. Unlike generic narrowband filters, it avoids spectral shift that can reduce nebula brightness in fast telescopes.

Ideal Targets

Perfect for imaging emission nebulae such as the North America Nebula (NGC 7000), Lagoon Nebula (M8), Orion Nebula (M42), and Carina Nebula (NGC 3372).

Note: Do not use this filter for galaxies or star clusters. Reinstall the clear optical window for broadband targets.

Easy Installation

The filter fits directly into the Origin filter drawer in place of the clear optical window. No adapters are required. A knurled, black anodised aluminium cell allows for easy handling.

Individually Tested

Each filter is individually tested by Celestron and includes a spectral transmission graph verifying correct performance.

Storage Case Included

A foam-lined plastic case is included for safe storage of the filter or original optical window.
