Celestron NexStar 8SE Limited Edition Horsehead Nebula Telescope
Only 500 produced worldwide. The Celestron NexStar 8SE Limited Edition Horsehead Nebula Telescope combines the proven performance of Celestron's popular 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain with an exclusive, collector-worthy design inspired by one of the night sky's most recognisable deep-sky objects.
Featuring distinctive Horsehead Nebula artwork on the optical tube and supplied with a premium selection of observing accessories, this special-edition NexStar 8SE offers something genuinely different for Celestron enthusiasts and astronomers alike.
Designed to be admired. Built to be used. Only 500 made worldwide.
Limited Edition Horsehead Nebula Design
The iconic NexStar 8SE receives a dramatic new appearance with this limited-edition Horsehead Nebula optical tube design. Production is strictly limited to 500 telescopes worldwide, making this a rare edition of one of Celestron's best-known computerised telescopes.
Powerful 8-Inch Schmidt-Cassegrain Optics
The NexStar 8SE features a 203.2mm (8-inch) aperture paired with a 2032mm focal length and f/10 focal ratio. Its large aperture collects approximately 843 times more light than the unaided human eye, providing the light-gathering capability required to explore everything from detailed lunar landscapes and planets to star clusters, nebulae and distant galaxies.
The long 2032mm focal length is particularly well suited to observing smaller targets and planetary details. Under suitable atmospheric conditions, you can explore features such as Jupiter's cloud belts and Great Red Spot, the Galilean moons, Saturn's rings and Cassini Division, and detailed features across the lunar surface.
Beyond the Solar System, the 8-inch aperture opens up hundreds of deep-sky targets, including globular clusters such as Messier 13 in Hercules, planetary nebulae, double stars and galaxies.
StarBright XLT Optical Coatings
Celestron's StarBright XLT optical coatings are applied to the NexStar 8SE optical system to maximise light transmission and improve overall optical performance, helping provide bright and detailed astronomical views.
Computerised GoTo Mount with 40,000+ Objects
The NexStar 8SE's computerised single-fork-arm altazimuth mount works with the supplied NexStar+ Hand Control, providing access to a database containing more than 40,000 celestial objects.
Once the telescope is aligned, simply select an object from the hand controller and the NexStar 8SE automatically slews towards it. The mount can then track the target as it moves across the night sky, allowing you to spend more time observing and less time manually searching.
Easy Alignment with Celestron SkyAlign
Celestron's SkyAlign technology makes setting up the NexStar 8SE approachable even if you're still learning the night sky.
After entering the required date, time and location information, point the telescope towards three bright celestial objects. SkyAlign uses these reference points to determine the telescope's orientation and establish its alignment.
The mount also supports additional alignment procedures including 1-Star, 2-Star, Auto 2-Star, Solar System, Last Alignment, Quick Align and equatorial alignment when used with a compatible equatorial wedge.
Portable Single Fork Arm Design
Despite its substantial 8-inch aperture, the NexStar 8SE has been designed with portability in mind. Celestron's distinctive single fork arm mount allows the optical tube, mount and tripod to be transported and assembled more easily than many comparably sized telescope systems.
The optical tube weighs approximately 5.4kg, while the complete telescope kit weighs approximately 10.88kg, making the 8SE practical for backyard astronomy or transporting to darker observing locations.
Premium Accessory Package Included
This Limited Edition NexStar 8SE includes an expanded selection of Celestron accessories to help you get more from the telescope straight out of the box.
The 32mm Omni Plössl eyepiece provides a lower-power, wider view that's excellent for locating objects and observing larger targets. Switch to the 9mm Omni Plössl when you want higher magnification for the Moon, planets and smaller celestial objects.
A 2x Omni Barlow Lens doubles the magnification produced by compatible 1.25-inch eyepieces, while the included 1.25-inch Moon Filter can reduce the Moon's apparent brightness for more comfortable lunar observation.
