Skywatcher Black Diamond 16 Collapsible Dobsonian Telescope
The Skywatcher Black Diamond 16 Collapsible Dobsonian Telescope is an awesome light gathering telescope, collecting 48% more light than the 14" with the added advantage of being collapsible and easier to transport.
The Collapsible Dobsonian has to be one of the best advances in astronomy telescopes in the last few years, taking the standard Dobsonian and making it more portable.
In a matter of a few seconds the scope is adjusted to its full operating focal length, the telescope tube has two positions, the first stop adjusts the scope for the right focal length for most DSLR’s for astrophotography. The second stop is for visual observing.
Turn your Dobsonian into a full GoTo, WiFi and tracking telescope with the addition of an Upgrade Kit, the kit will allow you to find thousands of objects in the night sky and the telescope will go to the objects and track them across the night sky.
The Dobsonian telescope is basically a Newtonian Reflector mounted on a wooden Dobsonian Mount, this mount was conceived by John Dobson, hence the Dobsonian. In the past few years, the manufactures have improved on the original Dobsonian Mount and made it one of the most popular forms of astronomy observing around.
The Dobsonian basically takes very little set up and can be up and running in a matter of minutes, no leveling required just a flat surface, it can be on a sloping driveway or the side of a hill, if the ground is flat that is all you need.
